...the first few days as a mexxian!!!
Time passed!! An year at college finished!!!!Reign of “Miss. Sathi Devi” came to an end…giving us lot of horrific memories!!!
I suddenly stood up from the bed..it was past 9 am…oh!! first day of the s3 classes!! “I won’t be able to reach in time”. The day before was terrific (slept at 3 a.m.)...the day which I would never forget in my life & never wanted to , the day which I first tasted “WHITE MISCHEIF” (whisky or brandy..i still don’t know) with my beloved seniors(“…they spent full money”)!!!....
From my bed I directly went in front of the mirror and stared at myself for a minute, I was still in the hands of white mischief!!!. I saw sujith and maneesh (we were hostel mates from first yr) getting ready proudly for joining their first s3 classes..well somehow I managed to leave my hostel at 9.30 am after a quick shower and having some idli’s!!
After 10 mins reached the main building..our class were at the second floor, so I rushed through the stairs…and began walking to the class..when I moved I noticed the s3 ECE, CS and BT classrooms…they were jam packed(it looked a lot like first day of James Cameron movie). With this image in mind I went to my class…I was stunned!!!there were empty seats!! . I was “welcomed” by a lady with “cropped hair” of about 40 yrs(not sure). She stared at me as I took seat near Sarath. I told my name as she marked it in the attendance sheet. “Geetha Kumari”!! Sharath whispered in utter silence. The first time I heard her name I was amazed, it never suited her!! She never looked like a “kumari” but a military woman who teaches discipline in detention centres. She used to wear a two colour sari (it’s military dress that suites her even better than sari!!) , after giving a brief introduction about herself, she started “MOS” : mechanics of solids!!! I looked around..not much familiar faces..even some of us shared our first sight!! After one hour of her disciplinary session, “kumari” said bye with a callous smile…..
That was the time I met some of the mexians of 2010 batch for the first time…I still searched for girls!!!...but unfortunate….none of them appeared…!!!
I was tactically making acquaintance with my new batchmates….my attention was suddenly deviated by an unpleasant scream from the front…a small group of guys were literally battling for the 1st bench..ANISH was leading the pack..he had the charm of a famous kollywood actress so we guys called him KHUSHBOOO!!!, with an ecstatic smile on his face,the pack occupied the 1st bench.
An unusual silence hit the class..the chalk ran through the board writing “CIVIL DRAWING AND ESTIMATION”..A slender middle aged woman occupied the dias..Vishnu muttered “PETRECIA”..this anglo-indian name was a bit strange for the wiry woman. She gave a lengthy speech on how devastating this subject can be!!suddenly a quake hit the 1st benchers..Anish,Hari and Basil started discussing long term and short term measures to deal with this monster of a subject..at last they resided on a “superlative” proposal put forward by china Vishnu..with that innovative proposal “china Vishnu’s” dream of a seat alongside the so called “BHUJIS” was finally accomplished..RAHUL R’s everlasting crave for the 1st bench completely shattered seeing the front benches fully packed..After that I’ve seen many times HYDRU putting forward a lot of BLUNDER IDEAS on many issues to get a front bench seat(motivated by china Vishnu)..unfortunately the bill never passed..”AN IDEA CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE(SEAT)” never worked in his case!!!
MIDDLE BENCHERS had the real bhujis like Shyam, Anand, Jithu…and talented fellows like Bharath, Vijay, Sooraj,Aswin, Suraj, Sarath, Nabeel, Vignesh,V Pradeep,Sajith, Sanal…..and also the 2 guys Rahul and Hydru still in despair with more blunder ideas..these guys were often seen together discussing strategies to make their plans better..but in vain!!!
The trouble makers were the BACK BENCHERS but the real MACHOS of the lot..OH God!! I was lucky to be one among them… Abhay, UK , KS,Sabari, Jinu, KG , Valyettan.Amrith, Janish , Thejus, V kumar, Sasi, Raymond, Vishakh and Sharavan-Naveen couple!!
